This is so cool it looks crab claws
The final stage is really amazing! My eyes went right for the black area. I think it looks sort of like fire/flames. It has a very "alive" feeling to it. You did an amazing job with the balance of black and white and making the black space look like it's creeping it's way into the white.
When I first glanced at the piece, me eyes went for the white space. To me, it looks like a cartoon character from a Disney channel movie riding a horse, who is on his hind legs. It looks like they are about to go into battle, maybe with a Dragon or something (since the black looks like fire to me).
I really like your last design. It is so interesting and and all in all, visually appealing. The contrast from white to black I think is at an equilibrium. Nice job!
